I asked for this?

Starting something new is always scary. I started a new job yesterday. On my way out of town to my vacation, I got a call from the personnel office letting me know that they wanted me to start a new job the day after I got home. Of course, I said yes. This is to start as a temp position possibly to turn into a permanent position, if needed. I'm the only woman in the building. I do have contact with the women in the other office, though. I have to tell myself not to be shy, to be assertive and confident. Most of the time, it is no problem, but sometimes, it's not that easy. One of the requirements for the position was that the employee had to be someone that wouldn't let the others in the shop run over her. I guess with it being all men, they pick on the secretary. We will see what happens when they get a little more comfortable with me. Right now, they are on their best behavior.

Joe is off this week, so he has been getting the kids to clean, shopping and cooking. It has been great. Although, I do have to take Madison to her 6:30 swimming lesson. Yes, the girls are in swim lessons again. Grandma signed them up for a second session. Kaitlyn goes to lessons at 4:30 and Madison at 6:30. Joe takes Catalan and I get Madison. I have actually enjoyed the last 2 days of the lessons, tremendously. I drop off Madison and go shopping by myself. I come back a little before lessons are over to pick her up and watch the last of the lesson. Tomorrow, Joe starts back on nights, so Grandma will take Kaitlyn for us. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday! I am so exhausted - a 3 day week with no morning and afternoon nap....... I don't know how I did it.......
